Improved systems and easier access to company information (from mobile phone, tablets, home working, etc) has accelerated the requirement for enhanced security features. Two‑factor authentication (2FA) is a critical safeguard against unauthorized access to sensitive data.

2FA is the addition of an extra layer of security to online accounts that a simple password cannot provide. By requiring a second form of verification, such as a code from your phone or a fingerprint, 2FA makes it significantly harder for cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access to your accounts and sensitive data.

Major updates in Release 3 of the Evoke low-code platform from BlueFinity mean that customers can now create apps that offer Active Directory and 2FA as a standard level of security.

Microsoft’s removal of support for Basic authentication for SMTP AUTH in Exchange Online in September 2025 and the move to OATH has also enhanced security by replacing password-based authentication with token-based access.  Release 3 of Evoke has enhanced the existing fully integrated support to send emails (Exchange, Gmail etc) to accommodate OAuth compatibility. This addresses emails used for password reset, 2FA, and any other purpose.

2FA is now available as a standard offering in all Evoke generated apps. Users have found that adding 2FA is as simple as just ‘turning it on’ for access to their data/database from a desktop computer, mobile phone, tablet or any other device.
