A new LokiLocker ransomware family has been discovered. Clearly, cyberthreats are rapidly evolving, as cybercriminals work to adapt their attack methods, seeing new families and variants take the stage.
Ransomware operators continue to mix-and-match malware ingredients deployed during the attack, as well as escalating their techniques.
Organizations need to protect their outward facing attack surface, but equally importantly, establish internal barriers (segmentation) to prevent lateral exploitation on which attackers rely to establish persistence and larger network access once they establish foothold on a single system.
