Alternative electronic component distributor, Zel Components, has expanded its partner network with seven new manufacturers, providing engineers and procurement teams greater access to certified, cost-effective electronic components beyond traditional distribution channels. By combining local stock with specialist manufacturing partners, the company is helping customers reduce lead times, improve supply resilience and find alternative components during component shortages.

The new partnerships form part of Zel Components’ wider distribution model, which brings established alternative manufacturers and emerging technology specialists to the UK and European markets.

Alongside competitive pricing and technical support, the approach gives customers access to readily available inventory from specialist manufacturers that are not typically available through traditional distribution.

SG Wireless joins the portfolio with a range of pre-certified Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular CAT 1 and LoRaWAN modules. By stocking the compact, multi-protocol devices, Zel Components enables engineers to accelerate IoT development, reduce board space and simplify wireless integration without designing connectivity solutions from component level.

To strengthen its passive component offering, Zel Components has also partnered with Hongda and UF Capacitors. Hongda supplies resistors, capacitors and inductors that provide cost-effective alternatives to major brands, while UF Capacitors expands the company’s multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) range, helping customers manage ongoing supply constraints and extended lead times through locally held inventory.

In addition, Vihontek Technology expands Zel Components’ LED portfolio with cost-competitive components for lighting and electronic applications. DWIN, a commercial display manufacturer specialising in embedded display solutions, joins the portfolio with a wide range of display technologies for industrial and electronic applications.

Zel Components is initially stocking small- to mid-sized DWIN displays, giving engineers readily available, off-the-shelf solutions that reduce development delays and accelerate product development.

Another partnership includes Kyushu Dentsu Co Limited (KDK), a Japanese specialist in timing and frequency devices. Its portfolio includes crystals, oscillators and high-performance OCXOs for applications across industrial electronics, radio frequency, aerospace and defence, alongside customised solutions for more demanding designs.

Completing the latest additions are Liaxin Electronic Technology and Xsemitron Technology. Liaxin broadens Zel Components’ connectivity offering with more than 130 terminal block products, providing a cost-optimised alternative to premium brands.

Meanwhile, Xsemitron Technology expands the portfolio into NAND Flash, eMMC and DRAM memory devices, giving customers greater flexibility in a market where pricing and availability remain challenging.

“These partnerships are about giving customers more choice,” said Chris Withers, sales director at Zel Components. “Some manufacturers provide direct alternatives to established brands, while others introduce technologies that aren’t widely available through traditional distribution.

“By combining those partnerships with local stock and technical support, we’re helping engineers reduce sourcing risk and keep development programmes moving, especially with more component shortages due.”
