Vault365 has invested £200,000 in the development and rollout of LocalLock, a highly secure data backup appliance which stores critical business data on-premise.

As momentum continues to move towards cloud-first solutions, Vault365 will work with UK and Irish organisations that secure and manage sensitive information on-site – particularly those in regulated industries such as financial services, legal, and government.

Vault365 is launching LocalLock amid customer demand to protect against increasingly sophisticated ransomware attacks, to reduce the risk of accidental or malicious deletion of data, and to enhance compliance with industry regulations.

Leveraging Veeam technology, this fully-managed immutable solution works alongside cloud backups to ensure ultra-fast data recovery in the event of an incident such as a cyberattack or hardware failure. Should attackers gain access to an organisation’s networks, they will be unable to encrypt or corrupt backups – meaning little to no downtime for businesses.

In addition, unlike fully cloud-based systems, this on-site hardware appliance can continue to safeguard data offline even during network outages. This provides an extra layer of security and ensures that business operations can continue uninterrupted.
