Brit-Tipp Limited, the Warrington – based commercial bodywork and tipper specialists, have specified a side-loading refuse bin lift for their customer Biffa, to provide a back-up collection service for households in the Winchester area.

Fitted to an Isuzu N75 7.5 tonne chassis, the compact lift is designed and manufactured in the UK by accessxl who, according to Brit Tipp, provided the equipment almost four times faster than was achievable by other suppliers.

“We were looking for a standard and fool-proof column lift which could help our customer with any missed/late collections and fly-tipping etc.” Says Sales and Marketing Director, Peter Dugdale. “We also needed a quick solution and, in this regard, accessxl provided the only viable option.”

According to Peter, the BL150 bin lift is fast, quiet, and easy to use with household wheely bins and can cope with loads of up to 150kg. Its short loading cycle lifts and tips into the back of the vehicle, then returns to ground level in one smooth action – while XL’s safety system continually holds the bin in place.

Prewired, with its own hydraulic PTO powerpack and optional cab switch, the lift was quick and easy to fit. Also, says Brit Tipp, the galvanised steel frame and parts protect against corrosion, for a longer working life.

“It’s the first of its type and a great little worker.” Adds Peter Dugdale. “We were very impressed with its operation and so were Biffa. And what’s more, because the lift is fabricated here in the UK, we have no concerns regarding parts supply or lead time with future orders.”

In this regard, since supplying the first accessxl bin lift to Biffa, Brit-Tipp has also secured a volume order with Dawsongroup Sweepers who, as part of Dawsongroup plc, specialise in the contract hire of vehicles to all major Local Authority Councils.

Brit-Tipp is a family run firm with a long-standing reputation for supplying high quality commercial bodywork throughout the UK to local authorities, public utilities, environmental operators, major fleets, chassis manufacturers and retailers. From its 71,000sq ft. Warrington factory, using CNC press brakes, CAD design and laser-cutting technology, the company has a monthly build capacity of 220 bodies ranging from pick-ups to 18T GVW – the operation is VCA – approved.
