Collaborative communications solutions provider, Calteq has delivered a fully connected payment and customer wi-fi capability to London restaurant Plateau’s new pop-up location. The solution ensures that the London restaurant can re-open and deliver the optimum outside eating experience to its customers while COVID restrictions remain in place.

Plateau, part of the D&D restaurant chain, needed fully functioning remote EPOS capabilities. This included a VPN tunnel back to its servers to the main restaurant located on the fourth floor to create customer bills and take payments. The challenge was to find a solution that could give them enough bandwidth to run those machines remotely and an in-depth configuration for data security. Recognising that this was not a simple plug and play solution D&D sought the expertise of Calteq in collaboration with their existing hosting company.

“Hospitality has been one of the hardest hit industry sectors during the COVID pandemic and so being able to re-open as soon as they were able was imperative for Plateau. Maintaining its own high standard of customer experience to diners was also a key requirement,” explains Matt Hammond, Head of Sales, Calteq. “Using our combined industry knowledge, the team here at Calteq has collaborated, created, and delivered a solution that matches Plateau’s exacting high standards and ensures that the restaurant can function as normal in their outside space. We are delighted to have been able to step in and help”.

“Connecting into our infrastructure from a remote location without Wifi was certainly a challenge, especially within such a short time frame and I’m grateful to the knowledge and expertise provided by the team at Calteq in helping us achieve this,” said Justin Goulty, Group IT Manager, D&D London
