Clipper is delighted to support Polarn O. Pyret on its sustainability journey, as the kidswear retailer commits to circular fashion with the launch of its unique second-hand service. To help PO.P deliver this proposition, Clipper will provide enhanced reverse logistics capabilities including rapid turnaround and improved quality control, relabelling, steaming, pressing, repair services, quality checks and product photography.
Every year in the United Kingdom 350,000 tonnes of clothing enter landfill. PO.P will play its part in reducing this through its new buyback and resell scheme, titled PO.P Second Hand. Launching across their entire product range in September 2022, Clipper’s unique solution will allow PO.P customers to benefit from a hassle-free returns and buyback process, allowing the brand to resell products with confidence.
Additionally, PO.P customers will enjoy a transparent and frictionless user experience and will be able to easily manage the trade-in of their pre-owned goods regardless of where they made their original purchase thanks to a unique website plug-in developed in partnership with Tern Eco.
Polarn O. Pyret was established in Sweden in 1976, and today the brand designs, produces and distributes baby and childrenswear throughout the Nordics, UK and the USA. Since inception, PO.P’s philosophy has been “let children be children”. Their initial objective was to make life easier for working families, by making hard-wearing cotton clothes for children that could be worn, loved then handed down time and time again.
Clipper began working with PO.P in March 2012, with an initial four-year contract at Clipper’s Ollerton facility. Since then, the operational footprint has grown by 140%, with a 400% increase in average weekly units. Clipper is now responsible for managing PO.P’s e-commerce and returns within the UK and Southern Ireland, alongside store distribution for 15 stand-alone stores and concessions.
Mats Nilsson, UK Managing Director, Polarn O. Pyret, said: “Our mission at PO.P has always been to produce excellent quality clothes that last. Our garments should be owned and worn by at least 3 growing children. PO.P Second Hand will allow us and our customers to extend this goal even further, and keep these clothes going round and round, just like our planet. It’s the future of fashion. Clipper’s specialist capabilities have enabled us to scale this unique service, making it accessible across our entire product range, to all our customers.”
Tony Mannix, CEO, Clipper added: “For over ten years, we have seen exceptional growth with PO.P. We are thrilled to support them further on their sustainability journey, as they commit to circular fashion. Our work with PO.P demonstrates our ability to truly add value to businesses through understanding their strategic direction and growth aspirations.”
