Ctrack by Inseego has introduced two wireless tracking devices to extend its range of battery-powered telematics solutions. The BX500 and BX600 units are ideal for use in all HGVs and vans, as well as non-powered assets including trailers, containers and even cargo. The ultra-compact size – just 137mm and 97mm in length respectively – and lightweight nature of both devices means they can be easily fitted and concealed, whatever the tracking requirement.

Featuring adaptive tracking, the units make use of advanced accelerometer technology and GPS data to intelligently monitor movement and send live updates. Both devices can detect motion and switch automatically to a fully-configurable live reporting mode to track vehicles and assets while active, returning to the ultra-low power mode when stationary. Either model can also be scaled to provide continuous tracking information or just once a day in order to preserve battery life.

The BX500 model is powered by removable Lithium batteries, which can last up to four years when providing a single, daily tracking update. Contained in a rugged housing, IP67-rated for both water and dust protection, the device has been designed to be externally-mounted on assets such as containers and trailers that are exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

The BX600 is a rechargeable GPS unit with a battery life of up to six months on a single charge. It has been designed to track vehicles and assets where long battery life is required without sacrificing the frequency of updates. With a robust, high-capacity battery, this model can be easily recharged via USB. The BX600 also features a light sensor, which works as a tamper detector for cargo tracking applications.

“With these latest devices, transport operations can now be in control of every aspect of their business, knowing the status and location of all their vehicles and unpowered assets,” explained Steve Thomas, Managing Director of Ctrack UK by Inseego. “All our battery-powered units can be combined with our entire range of vehicle tracking solutions for complete visibility and control through a single online software platform.”
