International fulfilment technology and services provider, fulfilmentcrowd has announced Magna Park as the latest addition to its Fulfilment Partner Network as part of a new partnership with enterprise information management services company, Iron Mountain.
Located in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, Magna Park is the UK and Europe’s largest dedicated logistics and distribution site, situated within the ‘golden triangle’ where the M1, M6 and M69 motorways meet.
The 503,000 sq ft warehouse space will significantly bolster the company’s growing international Fulfilment Partner Network, offering premium warehouse and storage space at a convenient location for UK and overseas distribution for its growing customer base of over 400 retail brands.
Benefits include access to all major carriers, late dispatch cut-offs and the ability to reach over 85% of the UK population within 4.5 hours’ drive. The BREEAM rated ‘Excellent’ site also prioritises sustainability measures to reduce its carbon footprint.
Paul Taylor, chief operating officer at fulfilmentcrowd said: “Magna Park is esteemed for its forward-thinking approach to warehouse design and sustainability – something that really attracted fulfilmentcrowd to the site. The EPC rated ‘A’ buildings are constructed with energy efficiency in mind, using recycled and recyclable materials, and with rooflights installed that promote ample natural lighting and energy savings of up to 13% each year.
“We’re continuously looking to expand and strengthen our global partner network with sites that prioritise sustainability and are geographically well placed for retailers to reach their customers more effectively. Magna Park is the ideal addition to our portfolio of fulfilment centres and we believe it will provide our customers with a flagship location that will enhance their business and their customers’ experience. We look forward to developing our partnership with Iron Mountain to explore other new sites in future.”
Phil Shepley, VP Commercial UKI at Iron Mountain, said: “We are pleased to offer customers increased operational capability to meet their growth plans and sustainability goals. Our Magna Park warehouses offer a flexible alternative for businesses that are looking to scale quickly in line with business growth or heightened customer demand.”
fulfilmentcrowd’s Partner Network is built on sharing economy principles and offers a more flexible and sustainable warehousing and fulfilment solution to eCommerce retailers, by providing a global network of partner centres with the capacity and resource to fulfil millions of orders every week. By optimising space and processes, efficiencies are improved and environmental impact is reduced. The network is controlled using fulfilmentcrowd’s own in-house WMS technology, paired with a variable cost model to simplify pricing and more accurately control margins for customers.
The BGF-backed business currently operates fulfilment centres across the UK, USA, France, Germany and the Netherlands, with plans to expand into other European locations over the next 12 months.
