Employment non-profit organisation, Generation UK, today announces a major new partnership with Ancoris to support the delivery of the new Google Cloud Engineer programme. Delivered in collaboration with Google Cloud as part of their Katalyst programme, the Google Cloud Engineer programme will support individuals across London to overcome significant barriers to employment and launch life changing careers as Cloud Digital Leaders and Google-Certified Associate Cloud Engineers.

There is a large and growing demand for new talent in the cloud industry, with Tech Nation showing that DevOps engineer roles have grown by 48% between 2017 – 2019, which is more than any other role. Alongside this, Google Cloud is the fastest growing cloud technology (50% CAGR) (1), adding up to significant demand for cloud talent across London and the UK.

Generation’s Google Cloud Engineer programme, is a twelve-week, full-time bootcamp that will equip budding cloud professionals with the technical skills to obtain entry-level roles, as well leveraging Generation’s world-renowned expertise in soft skill development. Entry-level cloud engineers may go on to work in start-up companies, medium enterprises, or leading blue-chip corporations, and generally provide support in cloud migration, management, infrastructure, and security.

By partnering with Ancoris, Generation UK’s learners will benefit from their proven expertise of helping companies of all sizes to transform their businesses through Data and AI, Application and Infrastructure modernisation, workspace and more. Ancoris’ experts will provide technical instruction and guidance to all learners throughout the course, providing real-world experience alongside Generation UK’s proven methods of developing behavioural and communication skills.

Marylin Schlamkow, Chief Partnerships Officer of Generation UK, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Ancoris, an award-winning cloud services provider to deliver our new cloud engineering programme.  Having employer partners advise on the curriculum, deliver training content and hire our bootcamp graduates is at the heart of Generation’s methodology. Working in partnership, we can work to make this 12-week skills bootcamp highly impactful by effectively supporting individuals into-entry level careers.”

Andre Azevedo, CEO Ancoris said: “At Ancoris, the thing that we are most passionate about is talent development. When we first heard about Katalyst, the first ever Google project of its kind globally, the answer to whether we wanted to get involved was obvious: Yes! We are extremely excited about being the delivery partner for this programme, which is tackling one of the biggest inhibitors to global growth – digital skills.”
