Ivalua, a leading global provider of procurement management solutions, and OptiBuy, Ivalua’s long-standing implementation partner, announced their selection by Körber to enable a digital procurement transformation. As an international technology group with about 10,000 employees, Körber offers products, solutions and services that inspire.
In recent years, Körber’s global supply chain management network has been intergrated increasingly into all relevant processes – from product development to requirements processing – due to its significant contribution to the company’s success. The close cooperation between supply chain management and internal stakeholders as well as external partners made a major contribution to this. In order to establish a unified and consistent source-to-pay process throughout the entire Group, Körber was looking for a fully integrated e-procurement solution.
The goal was to increase efficiency across the Group’s Business Areas. For Körber’s supply chain management community, quality, innovative strength, legal certainty, adherence to delivery dates and the sustainability of suppliers and service providers play a decisive role – as does cost. After a thorough selection process, Körber opted for Ivalua’s market-leading spend management platform. The project to implement the cloud-based platform is led by OptiBuy, a consulting company specialising in procurement management and the implementation of IT solutions.
Körber’s purchasing and supply chain management organisation is responsible for all procurement processes. Over thirty locations worldwide will benefit from the implementation of the software for strategic and operational purposes, including Supplier Lifecycle Management, Source to Contract (S2C), Contract Management and Requisition to Pay (R2P).
“We rely ‑ to a great extent ‑ on the agile, innovative and effective collaboration with our suppliers when it comes to delivering our offerings in the quality and with the speed our customers expect. Therefore, efficient and value-driven processes and solutions are important for us,” emphasises Michael Stietz, Senior Vice President & Chief Procurement Officer at Körber AG. “We selected Ivalua based on the strength of its solutions, seamless integration and flexibility to meet the unique and growing needs of our colleagues and customers in the Business Areas. We are convinced that the solution will bring further value to the company – also because of OptiBuy’s proven implementation capabilities and experience. This will benefit our colleagues and our processes and thus turn into into a competitive advantage for us quickly”.
The versatility of Ivalua’s solutions allows the Körber Group to adapt its joint supply chain strategy for its five Business Areas: Digital, Pharma, Supply Chain, Tissue and Tobacco.
“We are sure that with Ivalua, Körber will become even more cost-effective and focused on value creation through closer relationships with suppliers. Projects of this size and complexity are undoubtedly a major challenge. However, we have a lot of experience with implementations of Ivalua solutions on this scale”, said Tomasz Gonsior, Partner at OptiBuy.
“Manufacturers are facing ever more complex challenges and procurement must help support business initiatives at a strategic level more than ever. To ensure our client’s success, we gladly started this project with our long-time partner OptiBuy, as the close cooperation between our companies has always been a synonym for success,” said Jan-Hendrik Sohn, Regional Manager DACH & CEE at Ivalua.
