Marks and Spencer’s decision to close 11 of its French stores marks the start of more struggles across the industry due to the compounded supply chain effects of Brexit and Covid.

The combination of the two is putting extreme pressure on the supply chain, and we’re about to head into the busiest time of the year, when inventory management matters most.

Seeing such a big retail name being one of the first to take such drastic measures because of Brexit is a signal that even the largest chains with the necessary scale can’t offset the impact.
