Pharmacies that have yet to comply with the European Union’s Falsified Medicines Directive (EU FMD) can now do so in just a few clicks, thanks to a new transactional website for OPTEL Certa™ Software verification and decommissioning solution.

“The compliance deadline is just days away, and we understand that many pharmacies still require a solution,” said Korina Fischer, Vice-President, Healthcare, at OPTEL. “That’s why we decided to make Certa™ available for purchase online. Anything that makes it easier for the industry to quickly adapt to the new regulations is worth the investment.”

As of the 9th of February 2019, manufacturers serving European Union markets will be required to serialize and equip all prescription medications with tamper-evident features, while dispensers such as hospital and retail pharmacies will be required to verify and decommission medicines before dispensing to patients.

With its safe and secure communication with the National Medicines Verification Systems (NMVS) of countries across the European Union, OPTEL Certa™ Software is a cloud-based product that provides healthcare professionals with an immediate solution to comply with the EU FMD.

Pharmacies can now order the software online at www.optelgroup.com/certa.

Though Certa™ was developed to integrate into existing pharmacy infrastructure, OPTEL also offers a line of compatible ergonomic devices designed to adapt to all work environments. These are now available by contacting OPTEL.
