Pipers Crisps, Lincolnshire-based producers of high-quality award-winning crisps that retail across pubs, hotels, delis, farm shops, garden centres, museums and other specialist outlets, is deploying the fully integrated Microlise Planning & Optimisation, Journey Management and ePOD solution across its fleet.

With the solution in place, Pipers Crisps will be able to manage route planning, order management, schedule execution and proof of delivery capture through a single platform, streamlining processes and delivering efficiencies.

Microlise’s Planning & Optimisation product, launched last year, delivers highly accurate and efficient routes as well as providing flexibility for users to adjust plans by making manual adjustments when required.
Microlise Journey Management will provide visibility of vehicles against planned routes and schedules, through airport-style arrival and departure boards, and a Schedule Execution Board.

The paperless Microlise Proof of Delivery (POD) reduces administration load, while creating and digitally storing proof of delivery documentation. Additional features include driver communication, access to site notes and manifest information, job dispatch and schedule adherence.
Microlise has a well-established track record in the food distribution sector, with its solutions already delivering value to many of the UK’s leading grocery retail organisations and food logistics providers.

According to Faye Ward, Logistics Manager for Pipers Crisps, “Our interaction with Microlise through the presales, sales and product management stages was very positive and we know we can expect proactive support.

“Above all, we are confident in the system’s capacity to deliver increased customer value and service levels and to positively impact on our business as we continue to streamline and future proof our operations.”

“Piper’s Crisps has a keen focus on fleet efficiencies which is commendable,” said Microlise Chief Executive Officer, Nadeem Raza. “We are pleased to be providing additional tools to manage, monitor and positively impact on its operation.”
