The security vendor Entrust has confirmed that hackers have breached it’s network last month, accessing systems used for internal operations.

This is not the first, and certainly won’t be the last, time attackers have sought to target a security vendor.  However, what exactly has been compromised at Entrust remains to be confirmed and we await to hear more details after the investigation has concluded.

Generally, security technologies are an attractive target for threat actors because they operate with a high level of trust and handle, or have access to, sensitive data and technology environments.
