Raw Fury AB, a Stockholm-based indie video game publisher, is using Oracle NetSuite to support its mission to create magical, artistic video games. With NetSuite, Raw Fury has been able to take advantage of an integrated business system to help improve financial processes, increase efficiency and automation, and scale its operations as it ramps up production following major investment.

Founded by Jónas Antonsson in 2015, Raw Fury creates story-rich indie games, such as Dandara and Sable, and puts artistic integrity and creative development at the center of its strategy. Organic growth propelled Raw Fury to become one of the industry’s largest indie game publishers, and in 2021, Altor Partners, with the support of open banking and revenue-based loans, acquired a majority stake with the goal of ramping up production across both large and niche artistic projects. To support these growth plans and scale its business, Raw Fury needed to replace its existing business systems in order to streamline multi-country operations, integrate and analyze data, and improve its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

“Raw Fury is all about artistic expression and putting developers at the forefront of that mission,” said Kjartan Freyr Jónsson, CFO, Raw Fury. “With NetSuite, we now have access to financial insights that we cannot use. We love NetSuite’s customization capabilities and ease of growth, expansion, and delivering more games, and it is enabling us to do things we simply couldn’t do before with traditional financing methods.”

With NetSuite, Raw Fury has a single cloud business system to consolidate, automate, and scale its financial operations. NetSuite has enabled Raw Fury’s finance team to efficiently manage multi-subsidiary and multi-currency operations and improve data accuracy by automating previously manual processes across reporting, bookkeeping, planning, and analysis. To further streamline processes, Raw Fury has integrated NetSuite with its in-house business intelligence platform to run profitability and depreciation analysis across its portfolio and uses insights from NetSuite to inform future creative strategy. Having worked with NetSuite’s Customer Success team on its implementation, Raw Fury has retained NetSuite’s Advanced Customer Support to further refine integrations within the system and to develop more customised dashboards and reports for staff.

“Raw Fury is a perfect example of what can happen when developers are given time and creative space to thrive – they produce products that consumers are desperate to engage with,” said Joanna Culliford, Nordic sales director, Oracle NetSuite. “With NetSuite, Raw Fury now has deeper financial management capabilities and a platform to scale. This will help Raw Fury support its expanding operations, create more games, and keep its focus on efficient growth and the bottom line.”

Raw Fury selected NetSuite in October 2021.
