With Rishi Sunak winning the race to become the UK’s new Prime Minister just yesterday, it has never been clearer that our new leader has an incredibly difficult job on his hands.
However, amongst the economic troubles and energy issues that the new PM inherits, it is vital that his cabinet does not lose sight of one of the most critical areas of UK policy: tackling the environmental crisis.
With this in mind, Trevor Hutchings made the following comment:
“It is important that the new PM quickly reconfirms his government’s commitment to net zero and environmental sustainability. Businesses and investors need clear policy direction in areas such as the clean energy transition, the circular economy and nature-based solutions. This will help achieve sustainable growth across the UK economy, drive thousands of new green jobs and increase the UK’s international competitiveness and standing.”
