Sensolus, the European specialist in IoT tracking for non-powered industrial assets, will present its asset visibility solutions at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hall 12, Booth D04.

At the heart of the company’s presence will be its flagship TRACK 1105, a smart, battery-powered tracker developed specifically for non-powered load carriers.

Sensolus will also provide a first look at the upcoming TRACK 1105 EX for hazardous and explosive environments and offer insights into its existing AI capabilities.

Smart tracking for non-powered load carriers

TRACK 1105 attaches directly to interchangeable, non-powered load carriers such as trailers, tank containers, intermediate bulk containers and reusable transport packaging. The battery-powered tracker requires no wiring, optimises its own power consumption improving battery lifetime and automatically switches between the appropriate localization technologies depending on whether an asset is indoors or outdoors – without manual configuration. This enables companies to maintain visibility of load carriers as they move between owners, sites and production facilities.

“Our industry cannot reliably deliver if companies do not know where the equipment behind their transport and production processes is located,” says Kristoff Van Rattinghe, CEO of Sensolus. “Most companies can tell you where their trucks are, but not where their trailers, containers or reusable packaging are once they leave the loading dock. Delivering on time, intact and in compliance with regulations depends on visibility further upstream than many people realise.”

The solution is aimed especially at road transport and logistics companies operating large trailer fleets across regional and continental networks, as well as industrial manufacturers, OEMs and suppliers tracking reusable transport packaging, tools and other assets between sites and through production processes.

Non-powered equipment remains a persistent blind spot in transport, logistics and industrial operations. Sensolus estimates that approximately 3 to 5 per cent of this equipment is misplaced or lost each year. Greater visibility can increase the use of existing assets by up to 20 per cent and reduce the need for additional equipment. The IoT tracking specialist projects typically pay for themselves within one and a half to two and a half years.

First look at TRACK 1105 EX

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, Sensolus will also provide a first look at TRACK 1105 EX. The upcoming variant builds on the same smart-tracker foundation as TRACK 1105 and adds certification for use in hazardous and explosive environments.

TRACK 1105 EX is planned to launch in early 2027 with both ATEX certification for Europe and IECEx certification for international markets. It is designed for assets operating in or regularly passing through Zone 1 gas environments and Zone 21 dust environments.

Potential applications in road transport and logistics include tank containers, UN 31A/Y-certified intermediate bulk containers, hazardous waste containers and other assets operating in or regularly passing through classified areas such as tank loading bays or fuel terminals.

The solution is also intended for industrial manufacturing environments, including chemical and pharmaceutical production facilities as well as paint spray areas in automotive manufacturing. Typical assets include reusable transport packaging, load carriers, tools and components.

The new solution will be the focus of the Sensolus press conference on the official press day of IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026. Under the title “No Environment Too Demanding: Sensolus Unveils ATEX-Certified Asset Tracking,” the press conference will take place on September 14 at 12:20 p.m. at the Sensolus stand, D04 in Hall 12.

From asset tracking to AI-powered visibility

Sensolus will also highlight how AI is changing the way companies interact with their asset data. The company already offers an AI solution designed to make asset tracking data conversational. Instead of searching through dashboards and reports, users can ask questions about their assets in plain language.

“We think of it as a two-way street: AI needs data, and asset tracking data needs AI,” Van Rattinghe explains. “The data is the foundation, and AI is the translation layer. People can ask what matters to their job, in their own words, and receive an answer in the same way.”

The approach expands asset tracking beyond individual location reports. Over time, the data creates visibility into the patterns of how assets move and are used across transport and production processes.

“Asset tracking is shifting from being a device that reports a location to becoming a data foundation that other systems and, increasingly, AI can build on,” Van Rattinghe adds. “Knowing where things are is the starting point. The real value emerges over time, when companies gain flow visibility and understand how their assets actually move and get used. You can’t manage what you can’t see – and the sooner companies make their non-powered assets visible, the sooner it pays off.”

Sensolus will use IAA TRANSPORTATION to engage with road transport and logistics companies operating large trailer fleets, industrial manufacturers managing reusable assets and companies leasing equipment used for hazardous goods. Sensolus partners UES, Multicom System, Hyprint and GS Fleet will also be present at the event, creating opportunities for joint discussions with media and industry representatives.
