JDA Software, Inc., today announced that A.P. Moller – Maersk, a leading integrated container logistics and transport company has selected JDA® Warehouse Management as part of its digital transformation strategy. With JDA, Maersk will gain support in their ambition to provide visibility throughout the supply chain to improve on-time performance, adapt to real-world disruptions and simplify its customers’ supply chains.
Maersk is a leading integrated container logistics company, with operations in 130 countries, employing 76,000 people. Maersk works to provide customers with a simple offering of products and services, seamless customer engagement and a superior end-to-end delivery network, taking the complexity out of global supply chains.
Maersk will initially deploy cloud-based JDA Warehouse Management in Europe (Gothenburg) and the U.S. (Newark and Santa Fe) later this year and will use these sites to build the template for the global rollout across Maersk warehouse facilities.
“‘Digital’ is no longer just a buzzword, today it is unlocking tremendous value for our logistics and warehouse customers in terms of simplification and better performance,” said Henning Goldman, global head of warehousing and distribution, Maersk. “JDA’s deep expertise and leading innovation are already creating competitive advantages for its customers. The addition of these exciting solutions to our portfolio is going to help Maersk continue offering our customers truly unique, end-to-end solutions.”
With JDA Warehouse Management, Maersk will be able to drive improved performance and competitive edge. Being able to quickly adapt to change is paramount for logistics providers that have multiple customers, suppliers and carriers that they must collaborate with to ensure that the right inventory gets to the right location, at the right time. By leveraging JDA Connect powered by MuleSoft, Maersk will be able to push new capabilities to customers seamlessly and without disruption, and connect to each of their services (shipping, logistics and freight forwarding).
“Maersk is taking a leadership stance in the logistics industry, positioning themselves on a strategic path towards digital transformation,” said Johan Reventberg, president, EMEA, JDA. “Deploying JDA Warehouse Management will unlock complete, end-to-end visibility so Maersk can easily manage complex warehouse operations across myriad customer environments.”
