Business Critical Solutions (BCS), the specialist business dedicated to optimising digital infrastructure across the globe, has announced its commitment to helping to address the industry skills shortage by expanding its graduate and apprenticeship programme.

It follows the success of its partnership with London Southbank and Sheffield Hallam Universities which has seen the company offer 3 fully funded placements as part of its growth strategy. Next year it will expand the number of places it offers and work with other Universities including Salford, Reading, Kingston and Nottingham Trent.

Chris Coward, Senior Consultant at BCS, said: “There is a widely acknowledged skills shortage in the datacentre industry and we feel strongly that companies should do their bit to help alleviate this. It also makes good business sense as we are able to find the best people and teach them the BCS way!”

BCS had over 200 applicants for the scheme this year and has chosen Ben Chappell and Dan Sheehan through its apprenticeship scheme partnership with London Southbank University. Asim Mahmood will complete his 12-month industry placement as part of his Construction Project Management course at Sheffield Hallam University. In addition to any study requirements they will be involved in every aspect of the BCS business, which provides a full range of services solely within the business critical and technical real estate environments, working across the client portfolio supporting and learning from the experienced team.
