Virtustream, an enterprise-class cloud company and a Dell Technologies business, is gazing into its crystal ball to share a few predictions for 2020 around the blistering pace of cloud adoption in the healthcare space, along with the ongoing growth in demand for mission-critical cloud managed services, and what the looming deadline for SAP S/4 HANA migrations has users focused on in the year ahead.
Dr. Tim Calahan, Virtustream’s Director of Healthcare Product Strategy & Management, shared his predictions for 2020 with IT Supply Chain :
On Healthcare IT in the Cloud: “2020 will be the year of the cloud for many healthcare organizations. With some industry watchers predicting annual double-digit growth of the healthcare cloud computing market on its way to surpassing $50B by 2025, healthcare IT leaders will continue to adopt cloud technology at a fast-pace to address patient care, budget, regulatory and staffing challenges.” (See Dr. Calahan’s blog for more details.)
On Mission-Critical Managed Services: “You can see the SOS signals in every direction as more and more customers find themselves needing expert help in the clouds. Most large enterprises will look to use mission-critical managed services in the year ahead so they can instead focus on more innovative and strategic projects.”
On SAP S/4HANA Adoption: “Deadlines tend to inspire. Adoption of SAP S/4HANA will rise next year as the pending 2025 deadline looms closer on the horizon. We expect to see a surge in customers looking to begin the planning and migration process for driving these strategic, mission-critical workloads in the cloud.”
