Datalogic Scanners Help Fullers Logistics achieve 99.93% of KPIs
Datalogic, a global leader in Automatic Data Capture and Industrial Automation markets, and world-class producer of barcode readers, mobile computers, sensors, vision systems and laser marking equipment, congratulates Fullers Logistics Ltd., a UK based multi-channel fulfilment and distribution services provider for achieving 99.93% of KPIs at its automotive fulfilment warehouse with the help of a Datalogic bar code scanning solution.
Fullers uses Datalogic Gryphon™ bar code scanners to manage the receipt and distribution of spare parts at a dedicated facility in Slough that it operates on behalf of one of the world’s leading luxury car manufacturers. “On a daily basis our team is responsible for the receipt, put-away, pick, pack and same day dispatch of up to 1,500 lines of automotive components and fast moving spare parts,” explains Tony Dempsey, Divisional Managing Director at Fullers Logistics.
The fulfilment operation enables retailers across the South of England and South Walesregion to order parts as they are needed so that they can complete servicing work for customers and return their vehicles as quickly as possible. Once a part is ordered, a picking request is immediately generated and sent to the team at Fullers.
Parts are then picked in real time and placed into delivery totes assigned to each dealer ready for despatch. The bar code scanners ensure that the correct parts are despatched to the right place at the right time, and guarantee stock levels are constantly updated within the centralised stock database. The Datalogic Gryphon bar code scanners are also used during the goods in process to provide a simple, reliable and cost effective way of maintaining stock accuracy.
“The service that we provide relies on speed and accuracy; Datalogic bar code scanners are essential to ensuring that we meet our service level agreements and KPIs. For the last three years we have received performance awards from our client in recognition of our ability to consistently deliver and this has enabled us to provide continuous service improvements through the innovative bar code technology;” continues Dempsey.
Steve Clapham, T&L Sales Manager UK for Datalogic concludes. “It is fantastic to see third party logistics suppliers like Fullers proactively using technology to improve the service that they deliver to customers. We are pleased that they have chosen Datalogic Gryphon scanners to accurately capture information about inventory that enables Fullers and its client to reduce waste, anticipate future demand and exceed customer expectations”.
