The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is proud to name Demelza as its charity to support in 2024. Demelza delivers extraordinary care to extraordinary children and young people with serious or life-limiting illnesses, and their families, across Kent, South East London and East Sussex – from first diagnosis and for as long as they are needed.
Bringing compassion, understanding and positivity at an uncertain and anxious time, the charity is passionate about every individual in its care and seeks to create an environment that celebrates children and their families, supporting them every step of the way.
Demelza’s therapies help children and families to address individual physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs. Physical (physio and occupational) and creative (art, music, reflexology) therapies are provided. It offers short breaks at home, overnight short breaks in the hospice, and day care in the home, community and in the hospice. For end of life care, Demelza nursing and family support teams are available to help.
Ross Moloney, CEO of LEEA said: “In naming Demelza as our charity for 2024 we want to create as much support as we can throughout our membership and the Lifting Industry, to help this amazing organisation carry out its extraordinary work. We encourage members who wish to start their own fundraising campaigns and thank you in advance for your donations and help.”
Katie Hook, Regional Fundraising Manager at Demelza, said: “We are delighted to be named as LEEA’s chosen charity, would like to thank LEEA and its members for their support in raising vital funds and awareness for Demelza. We look forward to working together.”
