Astrata, a leading provider of enterprise management software and advanced location-based IT services (telematics), will showcase its latest trailer solutions at this year’s IAA Transportation, which takes place in Hannover, Germany, from 20th to 25th September 2022. All solutions are digital and compact, with simple installation for minimised downtime, and are targeted at transportation companies and fleet managers with different models of trucks and carrying various kind of cargo. Astrata will be exhibiting at Stand B50, Hall 25, Area 48.

Astrata has extended the functionality of its trailer solutions for cold chain and dry cargo. One solution on show features a compact digital thermograph that records the temperature of cargo, container, and trailer, thereby enabling real-time temperature control. Temperature data reports can be sent digitally in various formats, i.e. email. This is particularly important for pharmaceuticals, food retailers, fresh produce deliveries, or supermarket logistics. Another solution targets the dry cargo segment by providing real-time information about the trailer whereabouts, device health management, identification of the connected truck, EBS, TPMS and ISO11992 [1]. The solution also enables detecting trailer thefts and monitoring subcontractors’ operational model, runtime and historical data, e.g. for insurance, maintenance, security and traceability purposes. The ability to replay trailers’ routes and set geo-fencing for different vehicles improves trailer productivity.

Last but not least, Astrata’s fully integrated “eye on the road” video surveillance solution features road-facing cameras, giving dispatchers and drivers a 360° view of their surroundings and increasing the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. This helps to improve road safety, reduce accident claim costs and cargo damage, and guard against false allegations. The solution’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) alerts drivers of any potential tailgate, forward and pedestrian collision, and Driver State Monitoring (DSM) accurately monitors driver behaviour, trends, driving patterns and violations to ensure that vehicles and equipment are operated safely and lawfully. An optional driver-facing camera can monitor potential dangers, such as exhaustion or distractedness.

Keith Watson, Sales and Marketing Director at Astrata Europe, said: “Our integrated software gives transport operators a one-point overview of the entire fleet with all the necessary data elements, helping to protect delicate and valuable cargo. We are always expanding our spectrum of trailer solutions to provide transport operators and fleet managers with real-time visibility of their trailers and their cargo, which will lead to efficiency gains, cost savings, and improved competitiveness.”
