Durham headquartered warehouse management systems (WMS) specialist Indigo Software is celebrating after having been named a Northern Powerhouse Export Champion 2019.
Northern Powerhouse Export Champions are chosen by the Department for International Trade (DIT) and recognise the entrepreneurship and innovation of leading companies in selling their products and services in global overseas markets.
Indigo has been successfully exporting its warehousing software solution, Indigo WMS, for the past 7 years into Asia, the USA and continental Europe. The company now has customers in USA, Germany, Croatia, Ireland, Denmark, China, Australia, the Philippines and New Zealand, in addition to the UK.
Led by Group CEO Darren Baxter and supported by Mike Hill, CEO Asia Pacific, Indigo’s export strategy has been to focus on markets where UK developed software will be well regarded, including the USA and countries in the Asia Pacific region. This has enabled Indigo to open a growing division in Asia, targeting local manufacturers and distributors who now need to start introducing warehousing technology to become more efficient and improve traceability.
“We would like to the thank the DIT for its support and recognising our achievements with this award,” said Darren Baxter, Group CEO at Indigo Software. “In the current economic environment, it has never been more important for businesses to explore opportunities globally and we know that exporters tend to be more productive, innovative and resilient than other businesses. We would also like to congratulate two of our customers, Evans Vanodine and Wax Lyrical, who have also been named as North West Northern Powerhouse Champions 2019.”
