Civica, a global leader in software for public services, has won a new £750K, five-year contract with Police Scotland for its cloud-enabled MultiVue Master Data Management (MDM) software.

The MDM system will integrate data from multiple sources, remove duplication of records, provide enhanced data analysis and present a single view of a person or location, while complying with all legal and ethical considerations and requirements.

Its introduction is a strategic part of the organisation’s ‘Data Drives Digital’ programme as laid out in its Joint Strategy for Policing (2020). Its objective to ease access to a single view of trusted, linked data is key to the organisation realising the benefits of a data driven organisation.

Denis Hamill, Chief Data Officer for Police Scotland said: “Master data management is foundational to our ‘Data Drives Digital’ programme which aims to enable the delivery of trusted data to meet Police Scotland’s analytical demands.

“We’re looking forward to working in partnership with Civica to provide well-governed, trusted and high quality data that will better support dynamic decision-making by police officers and staff as they continue to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities in Scotland.”

Chris Owen, Divisional Managing Director for Master Data Management at Civica, added: “We’re delighted to partner with Police Scotland as it employs MultiVue to enhance its data and digital agenda. The new data hub will enhance analysis and operational efficiencies across the organisation.”

The new contract win follows success with Skills Development Scotland and Creative Scotland in 2020, with Civica strengthening MultiVue’s position as the MDM product of choice for Scottish Government agencies looking to adopt a ‘once for Scotland’ approach.
