Skuid, a leading toolkit to accelerate custom Salesforce app design, development and adoption, today announced that it hired Ryan Niemann, former CEO of Cirrus Insight, as CEO to help drive the growth of the company and execute its mission. Skuid founder and former CEO Ken McElrath will transition to a new chief strategy officer role.

“Our mission at Skuid is to humanize enterprise software. This leadership expansion and transition will help us accelerate app adoption, innovation and agility across even more organizations around the world,” said Ken McElrath, founder and chief strategy officer. “I could not be more stoked for Ryan to join the team, because he brings a broad set of skills and experiences that will make a significant, positive impact for our employees, customers and shareholders. Ryan is extremely qualified to step into the CEO role at Skuid, and I look forward to supporting him in my new role as chief strategy officer.”

McElrath will work closely with Niemann and will continue to play an integral role in the strategic direction and growth of Skuid. In his new role, Ken will continue to lead the R&D teams, including product, software engineering, and technology operations. His work will focus on product innovation, leading new long-term initiatives, and exploring additional growth strategies for the company.

According to recent Gartner research, the low-code development market is projected to total $13.8 billion in 2021, an increase of 22.6% from 2020. The need for companies to stay agile and digitize critical business operations has grown as a result of an increasingly remote and fragmented workforce. Low-and no-code capabilities that support remote work functions, such as digital forms, workflow automation, and digital portals and communities, are and will continue to be in high demand. As this surge continues, this leadership transition will position Skuid for rapid growth.

The recent growth of Skuid has demonstrated the reality of these market trends as evidenced by a very strong fourth quarter of 2020 followed quickly by several great new customer additions so far in the first quarter of 2021. In the past year, the company has expanded its go-to-market teams, hired a best-in-class leadership team, including a new chief revenue officer, chief financial officer, chief customer officer, VP of marketing, and a new executive chairman of its board of directors. Skuid had a major product release in Q3 of last year and will continue working on its aggressive product roadmap, with a sizable new release due later this quarter.

“Our customers need agile business systems to innovate and grow in an increasingly complex business, technology and economic environment. I am excited to lead an exceptional team of experts and amplify the customer-focused strategies already put in place,” said Ryan Niemann, CEO of Skuid. “I am honored to take a founder-led company to the next stage of growth.”

Under Niemann’s leadership, Skuid will have even more capacity to accelerate growth and stay customer-focused. Niemann has deep experience in B2B SaaS leadership, CRM productivity, inorganic growth, and leading companies in the growth-stage. Niemann joins Skuid from Cirrus Insight, one of the largest Salesforce independent software vendors, where he oversaw a merger with Zynbit in August of 2020. He has worked extensively with global systems integrators and partners and is deeply familiar with the Salesforce ecosystem. Niemann’s immediate and ongoing focus will be accelerating the growth of the company to drive value for Skuid customers.

“We are delighted to welcome Ryan as our next CEO,” said Dan Dal Degan, executive chairman at Skuid. “Our results from 2020 prove that Skuid is solving real problems for customers and that it’s time to scale. Expanding our strong leadership team to drive this opportunity forward with haste will help us capitalize on this momentum. Ryan has a demonstrated record of success, the experience needed to help us scale, and matches our cultural values perfectly.”
