Challenger Mobile Communications, the business communications provider, has announced a new partnership with fleet management solutions specialist Trakm8, to bolster its offering ahead of the introduction of London’s Direct Vision Standard (DVS).
Challenger offers a host of telecoms solutions ranging from telephony through to cloud hosting. The new partnership with Trakm8, agreed in August, will allow Challenger to expand on its telematics offering with Trakm8’s industry leading package of fleet solutions. Challenger’s diverse range of clients will be able to benefit from Trakm8’s entire innovative range of telematics and vehicle camera solutions.
The new partnership was prompted by a number of upcoming regulatory changes, including DVS. The new standard will require the vast majority of HGVs driving through Central London to add additional sources of indirect vision to avoid fines. Similar regulations are expected to come into force in other cities and regions in the future, increasing the importance of fleets having a robust set of telematics solutions.
While Challenger has offered tracking to customers for 15 years, they have found that customer demand for telematics solutions is on the rise, given the efficiency, safety and reliability gains such systems can offer. Trakm8’s vehicle tracking and delivery tool, Insight Optimisation, is proven to increase fuel efficiency and productivity by up to 30%, while Trakm8 Connectedcare offers remote vehicle health monitoring to minimise costly downtime.
Jeff Eamens, Managing Director at Challenger, said: “Challenger have been offering tracking services to our customers for many years now but historically this has always been one of the smaller parts of our business. We see great potential for growth in this sector and have been looking for some time now for a quality product to offer to our customer base.
We have chosen Trakm8 as our tracking provider as the platform and products are first class and the team are always on hand to support us when needed. We think we have chosen a fantastic partner and have plans to grow the channel considerably over the next few years.”
Chris Horbowyj, Channel Sales Director at Trakm8, added: “Challenger is a vital partner for Trakm8, as a trusted communicator with our customers and as a provider of all-round communications technology. We’re looking forward to working with Challenger to bring the benefits of Trakm8’s technology to a wider range of fleets, and to partnering further in the future.”
