The new cyber security Bill just passed in parliament is an exciting milestone. Securing our digital future is a must and this is a strong foundation that shows the UK Government is making national security a clear priority as we move forward. Leveraging easy to use passwords is a trend we see time and again, as employees and consumers opt for what they know and what is convenient.  

The challenge here is that many people treat their passwords as a trade-off between something secure and complex, versus something that is easy to remember. But with these new measures in place, we will start to see implementing strong and basic cyber security hygiene a must, otherwise companies risk facing fines. Any legislation that aims to strengthen cyber security and create more collective awareness is a change for the better.
