Following the announcement about the Help to Grow scheme,  we strongly welcome the government’s recognition that technology will play a central role in an SME led recovery. It is vital that small businesses have the right tools and skills to drive economic growth and protect jobs longer term, and we have been consistent and long-time supporters of technology incentives.

Realising SME’s current appetite for technology investment in full could benefit UK economic output to the tune of £145 billion, supporting 2.7 million jobs nationwide.

We know that the vast majority of businesses want to invest in technology and digital tools, yet until now 60% have not been able to do so. We wait to see the detail, but many of the UKs 5.9m SMEs will now have the confidence to invest in the essential tools they need to continue to build their businesses . This is good news for the UK’s economic growth, productivity and  job creation
