Veracode, a leading provider in application security testing (AST), today announced that Pal Kondel has joined the Veracode team as the Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA).
Kondel will be responsible for sales growth in the regions including both direct and channel sales teams. Veracode, which has offices in London, Prague and Singapore, has experienced rapid growth in the past fiscal year in the region as more businesses in the region select Veracode to build their application security programs.
“Businesses around the world are facing application security challenges such as security at scale, skills shortages, and complexity with regional privacy and compliance mandates. Veracode offers a platform that solves these challenges at every stage of the software development lifecycle for businesses of any size,” said Kondel. “I’m thrilled to join Veracode and I’m excited to lead a strong sales and technical team in EMEA that is well positioned to expand our presence.”
“Pal is a seasoned sales leader with a track record of leading EMEA sales teams and helping high growth technology companies reach their customer success goals,” said Mike McGuinness, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at Veracode. “Veracode’s State of Software Security Volume 9 report data showed EMEA companies lagged behind the average significantly in the time it took them to close flaws. Overall, businesses in the region are seeking a better understanding of how to secure their software. Pal leads with a customer centric approach and his experience combined with our channel partner organisation will help accelerate our growth in the market.”
Prior to Veracode, Kondel was head of UK and Ireland sales for Netcentric. He earned a Master of Philosophy from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of London.
The application security market is poised to grow to $7 billion by 2023, according to a report by Forrester Research, fueled by rapid proliferation of software and an increased cadence of application layer breaches. To ensure the software they are building, buying and downloading is secure, organisations around the world are adopting the full suite of solutions offered by the Veracode platform to create secure code.
